The
object of this AS4801 Standard is to set an auditable criteria
for our occupational health and safety management system.
The Standard is a specification that aims to encompass the best
elements of such systems already widely used in Australia and
New Zealand. It includes guidance on how these criteria may be
achieved.
Carter
Corporation chose AS4801 as a Management System to assure our clients
of our commitment to continuous improvement and that our work practices
and procedures are equal to or exceed the national certification
standard.
The
health and wellbeing of our clients and our staff is our primary
consideration in the decision making process.
"Best Practice" is the foundation on which our Asbestos
Management
Services culture and values are built.
Carters
has operated its own OHS&W Management System prior to this accreditation
and strictly abides by the terms and requirements of the Occupational,
Health, Safety and Welfare Act 1995.
Due
to its stringent on-site safety control, Carters can modestly boast
that an industrial accident has not occurred on any of its projects.
All of
Carters operations staff perform specific risk assessments and complete
a JSA (Job Safety Analysis) before commencing any inspection task
and
carry out all inspections in accordance with specifically developed
asbestos SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
